Happy Mother’s Day to UK readers!
First impression review of the first episode.
“… gets off to a bit of a slow start… enjoyable enough to continue with, so let’s see how it goes!” ♥♥♥/5
Matthew Perry’s latest attempt at a comeback is as the divorced Oscar, the slob of the by-now well known Odd Couple, with Thomas Lennon as the neat-freak Felix who moves in after his wife kicks him out.
The first episode gets off to a bit of a slow start, and I didn’t feel like it really started getting funny until towards the end, which was probably where it could stop worrying about the set up – pants-less Oscar and his messy apartment being dramatically changed by the arrival of his old friend, who brings with him tidiness, yoga and memories Oscar was perfectly happy not thinking about.
Throw in Felix messing up Oscar’s best chance with the woman he’s been trying to get the attention of and you have your show about two opposites living together trying not to kill each other. Not that Felix would go that far, as we see he doesn’t even know how to argue right.
The first episode was enjoyable enough to continue with, so let’s see how it goes!
